Melanoma is the 5th most common cancer among men, the 6th most common cancer among women in the US, and the incidence continues to rise. Women under age 39 have a higher probability of developing melanoma than any cancer except breast cancer.
This is often the tragedy of melanoma. It occurs in young people, often destroying families.
